Average House Price continues to rise
The latest House Price Index Report published by the Registers of Scotland shows increase in the average price of a property in Scotland.

The average price of a property in Scotland now stands at £148,512as at January 2018 (the latest date for which this data is available). This is a rise of 7.3% when compared with the January 2017 figures and an increase of 1.4% against the December 2017 figure.

Janet Egdell, Operations Director and Accountable Officer at the Registers of Scotland, said: “Average prices in Scotland continued their upward trend in January with an increase of 7.3 per cent when compared to January 2017. Average prices have been steadily increasing each month since March 2016, when compared with the same month of the previous year."

Interestingly, whilst the trend has been upward, the average price of a property in the Stirling local authority area which stands at £174,982 is a slight drop when compared to the January 2017 figure which then stood at £176,052. This is a small reduction of 0.6% in the average price.
