Do you have plans for your children in the event of your death?
A report by Lloyds Banking Group finds nearly half (47%) of Scotland’s parents with children aged 18 and under don’t have plans for their children in the event of their death. The same report also highlighted the fact that 50% of adults in Scotland with important online financial information haven't told their next of kin about their online financial accounts. Amazingly, 13% have thought about what to do about their Facebook account when they die. Finally, and it won't surprise you if you've heard us banging on about this, almost two thirds (63%) of Scots haven't made a Will! This compares with the 58% of people in the UK who haven't made a Will - still not great by any stretch of the imagination.

In highlighting the fact that nearly half of Scotland's parents with children under the age of 18 haven't a plan in place for their children in the event of their death, the survey also found that almost a fifth (16%) hadn't even thought about it. The study also calculates there would be 2.9 million children under the age of 18 years of age without a legal guardian if their parents pass away.
