Mind the Gap - the Gender Pay Gap!
From April 2018 it will be compulsory for all companies with more than 250 employees to publish information on any gap between the average salaries of male and female employees.

In an effort to drive wage equality, the UK Government has made it a legal obligation for all companies with more than 250 employees to publish information on wage differentials between their male and female employees. The calculations should be carried out on the average wage of men and women employees. The difference should be stated as a percentage and must be published on the company's website and on a designated Government website at https://genderpaygap.campaign.gov.uk/. If these regulations apply to your company, you should register with the Government website and upload your figures.

ACAS has published a very useful information leaflet setting out how you calculate the size of your workforce when you employ part-time and full-time workers, the average wage and setting out the percentage difference. You can access this by clicking here.

Failing to publish the data within one year of the snapshot date of 5th April is unlawful. The Equality and Human Rights Commission has power to enforce any failure to comply with the regulations.

Whilst Kerr Stirling is not required to publish its figures we are delighted to announce that we are committed to Gender Equality pay.
