Kerr Stirling Charity Work in 2016

Here at Kerr Stirling, we were delighted to be involved in a number of events in support of a wide range of charities. We supported Aberlour Child Care Trust, MacMillan Cancer Case, Home Start Stirling as well as Plus (Forth Valley) Ltd.

Some of the events we hosted or were involved in ranged from the somewhat sedate Christmas Jumper and Sparkly day to the much more adventurous Abseil down he Forth Bridge! We did the Edinburgh Kiltwalk and held a coffee morening and took donations for signing documents rather than taking a fee. All in all, it’s been a busy year for our charitable activities so we thought we’d share some of our memories with you – and the best way of doing that to show you just how much we enjoyed ourselves doing what we did.

The partners and staff took part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on 18th September in support of Aberlour, Scotland’s Children’s Charity with the aim of raising £1,000.  Including gift Aid, we successfully raised £1,206.25. A fantastic effort by all concerned.

The Forth Bridge Abseil was, perhaps, the most adventurous of our fund raising efforts that saw us involved in an abseil down the Forth Bridge. We again supported Aberlour Child Care Trust and at the event we raised a magnificent £1,112.50. Here are some of the photos we took on the day showing the intrepid [insert details of the person on the ropes] as she descended the bridge - and, of course, the warm welcome back to earth from her daughter!

It wasn’t all derring do, though!

We held a Christmas Jumper and Sparkle Day when we raised £124.26 for Aberlour Child Care Trust. Here we are showing off our special jumpers and sparkles!

We are very keen supporters of Start-up Stirling, a registered charity helping local families who are struggling through financial crisis. We’ve supported the charity throughout the year and particularly at Christmas time. We provide food and toiletries for the foodbank and also Christmas gifts for children, who perhaps, in the current financial climate, may otherwise not receive anything from Santa.

We held a Coffee Morning in support of MacMillan Cancer Care from which we raised a magnificent sum of £407.25 and we would like to thank all those who came along to our office for a coffee and a chat and, of course, gave us the donations to help us achieve our target. We promoted the event through the firm’s eNewsletter and this reached many of our clients.

We've also made donations to Home Start Stirling and Plus (Forth Valley) Ltd each of £320.46 and the staff made donations to the Soldiers on Tour Charity in support of soldiers in Afghanistan for Christmas. We asked clients for a donation when we Notarised documents for them rather than taking a fee.

All in all, we're delighted to say we've raised £3,170.72 for the charities we've supported and we look forward to continuing to support our favourite charities in the months and years to come. Check back here for an update from time to time and get news of up-coming events.
